Rebrand and web design. Marie-Clare had no branding to speak of when we met. No real logo (a drawing by her then-14-year-old niece which MC was rather attached to, used only sporadically and wasn’t doing her any favours!), a grey, messy website, and a Facebook page that looked different again.
First the logo: inspired by her old drawing (left), we made her more chic, like a 1960s French fashion illustration. Colours and typography were also inspired by vintage French wine labels, all tapping into Marie-Clare’s heritage. We also created her strapline, ‘For the Love of Food‘ which summed her up!
The red was inspired by the lipstick MC wore, which acted like a flash of lipstick on her business cards and packaging, below. Her chilli jam is a best-seller so we did a bespoke label for that.
We also overhauled her messy, confusing website by establishing the core role of the site and reducing the pages from 14 to 4. Sumptuous, vibrant close-up food imagery was used to really entice the customer.
“My Marie-Clare Cooks corporate identity lacked consistency and was confusing – the logo, website and FB page were disjointed and didn’t even appear to be the same brand. Although I realised that this needed to be addressed, I had been putting this off for years. Fortunately, I then met Sapna…
She quickly identified the core of my business, my brand, my target market, my positioning and came up with the strapline ‘For the Love of Food’. This was very telling for me as she totally ‘got me’ and understood that that’s just why I do it!
She kept the idea of a hand-drawn ‘me’, as my original logo had been drawn by my niece at the age of 14. Sapna then came up with a new logo that summed me and my business up perfectly. I am really happy with my new brand identity. It’s fun and cheeky and full of personality and I love it.
She also coached me through my indecisive moments and was very patient with me. She has a clear passion for what she does and really gets under the skin of your business to understand what it is that makes you who you are, and then expresses this beautifully through her designs.
I would happily recommend InnerVisions ID for any brand identity work.”
