London’s Yourstage Drama school aims to grow children’s ‘Confidence through Creativity’. They run classes for age ranges 3-5, 6-10 and 11-16.
I started to think about how children learn, grow and evolve over their time with Yourstage; and the idea of the Seven Stages of Man’s Evolution came to mind…
The finished logo reflects the evolution of children, from a shy toddler growing with increasing confidence to a confident teen. The characters have a slight male bias as the group tends to attract more females at present.
The words make a ‘stage’ to perform on, getting more bold, on a practical basis, to aid legibility but also to signify growing confidence over time.
Three strong, brand-neutral colours represent the three age groups. The characters and colours will be used e.g. online (website to follow) to aid navigation for age-specific info.
We also created brand guidelines for the company, including guidelines on photography and imagery usage, plus a template for their adverts and posters.
