“When creating the Prominence Global brand, The VISION process was one of the most powerful exercises ever undertaken. More than just a nice new logo…we now have a strong look and whole set of branding guidelines. It’s what we have always stood for, just communicated and packaged in a much better way.
A big shout out to Sapna Pieroux and her team at InnerVisions ID. We couldn’t have done it without you. If you are considering a rebrand for your business, no matter where in the world you’re based, connect with Sapna on LinkedIn as a first step.”
Adam Houlahan, Prominence Global
Adam is an entrepreneur based in Australia. He’d been scouring the globe for a branding agency for months when by chance, he met founder of InnerVisions ID, Sapna Pieroux, in a London restaurant networking event. Over tapas, he decided that he’d had found the perfect fit for his company.
His company Web Traffic That Works was repositioning and nicheing to help entrepreneurs raise their profile on LinkedIn and increase their impact.
The first thing we needed to do was give his company a name to take it to the next level. In a naming call, he came up with: Prominence Global.
The VISION Process
Visualise, Inner brand, Stand Out
The first three steps of the VISION process are all research-based. In the Visualise stage, we discussed Adam’s aspirational brands, his vision for the company and his clients’ visions.
We then worked through our ‘Inner Brand’ stage, establishing his company’s Brand Values, Personality and Voice.
‘Making a difference’ was a theme that came through really strongly in the Values exercise. This became core in our development of the brand.
In the Stand Out phase, we looked at other companies in his industry. We dissected what Adam liked and didn’t like about his competitors in terms of their branding. Interestingly, it was Adam’s aspirational brands, especially the charity ones, who provided more inspiration for us. Stand Out really helped us get to know Adam and helped us develop a really strong look and direction for Prominence Global.
Only after we go through these three research stages of the VISION process do we start to design. The fourth step is…
The logo design went through a few iterations but the concept was always highlighting the ‘in’ of ‘Prominence’ to tie in with the LinkedIn focus. We even matched the typeface and brand colours, but played with the letterforms to add the ‘movement’ and them becoming more prominent. This was the finished result.
Once the logo and social media icon (left) were in place, everything else flowed.
Prominence Global impacts lives globally through their tie-in with B1G1, an organisation which helps companies make a bigger impact worldwide through charitable donations.
Tying in with this mission to do good whilst doing business we developed the strapline: Influence with Impact. This was created as a separate graphic element (left) or can work as a sign-off for copy.
We kept the LinkedIn blue as a key colour, with more colour coming through impactful photography.
B1G1 generously allowed us to use their stunning imagery of the communities and people that their work supports.
We paired and contrasted those photos with a set of Prominence Global’s target clients. These images showed people using their influence to have an impact on their audience.
The brand assets and styling all came together in the fifth stage of the VISION process, Output. Formalised brand assets and brand guidelines are necessary to keep your brand consistent wherever it shows up.
The guidelines outline usage of the logo, specify typography, the colour palette and style and usage of imagery, as well as any other graphic elements.
For example, use of a simple arc/section of a circle motif dividing the pages or information echoed the ‘global’ feel and the curve of the logo. It also gives Prominence Global a clean but distinctive look.
Prominence Global launched on LinkedIn (where else?!) with a new timeline image (below) and a great testimonial video.
